Safety, Security & Support

An integral part of the support services provided by Berwick Residential and Monash University are the staff on hand to assist residents no matter what the problem.

At Berwick Residential all of the staff have had many years of experience working in the student residential environment, and are familiar with many of the problems faced by residents, particularly first-year students, and their experience of independent living. Our staff will happily assist the residents with any concerns. All they have to do is ask!

In addition to the Berwick Residential Support Staff there are also support services available on campus; these support services are:

  • Health Wellbeing and Development
    • Counselling Support
    • Financial Aid Support
    • Chaplaincy Support
    • International Student Support
  • Disability Liaison Support
  • Careers and Employment Support

The important support personnel after hours are the security staff and the residential supervisor.

Security Staff

The Security Staff are on duty from 6:00pm to 9:00am seven days per week to ensure the security and safety of all students and University buildings. Students can also request escorts to and from all University buildings back to the residences after dark.

Residential Supervisor

Our Residential Supervisor is the head of our Residential Support Team and lives on campus, in the Hall of Residence buildings. They are available for immediate after hours assistance to attend any emergencies or student call-outs as required. They are also available for individual student inquiries by appointment. Our Residential Supervisor will also conduct/sponsor and participate in many social activities for the students living on campus, and are often seen as a ‘parental figure’ for our students when they are in need of personal advice/support.
