Maintenance History

Monash Residential Services is constantly striving to improve the living environment for all students that live in our residential facilities, whilst at the same time reducing our impact on the natural environment.

Below is a summary of the major maintenance, renovation and service provision highlights that have occurred at International Mews from 2000 to present.

  • 2007 Compact energy efficient fluorescent lighting installed. General touch up painting.  Painting of doors.  All carpets cleaned.  Blind repairs, stove repairs.  Heater replacement program began.  Security upgrades include new locks, bolt locks on ground floor lounge doors, locking of access gates.
  • 2006 Carpet cleaning in communal areas, touch up painting, new microwaves installed.
  • 2003/04 & 2004/05 Repainting of all Units; the apartments were split into two groups of 9 units.  Each group was painted over a summer.
  • 2003  Bathroom and Kitchen cupboard replacement program commenced (2003) due to water damage.  This was a gradual replacement program. It also included the kitchen cupboard doors in front of the sinks in each kitchen.
  • 2003  Removal of the laundry cupboard doors to make room for new replacement washing machines.  The newer machines did not fit into the cupboards with the doors on.
  • 2000/01 - replaced all of the showers at Mews. 36 showers in total. [Completed May 2001].
